La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Charlotte Airport South

Affordable pet-friendly hotel just off I-77 with a gas station across the street. The room was newly renovated, clean with a good TV and shower. Front Desk check-in experience with Jasmine was great. After a long day on the road, I really appreciated her welcoming attitude, understanding and efficient service. Elevator and hall carpets need some tlc and ice was only available on the main floor at the time of our stay. Breakfast was average but breakfast area was large and clean. Next road trip would prefer something with a selection of restaurants close by that I could walk to.

Checked in Nov 25 checking out Nov 27. Between this time I had to kill two small roaches in addition to spotting a small dead roach upon my check in date. I am presently awake typing this review at 3:35am due to having not been able to sleep. I have business and work I am to conduct [now] this morning and throughout the day today Sunday and not having adequate rest will make things all the more difficult. I reported it twice and no accommodation has been offered. A lady that seemed to be a part of house keeping (I could be wrong) initially heard my complaint with another front desk worker, looked as if she made note of it (not exactly sure that she did or not) and said they would notify the manager. Meanwhile I am not getting any sleep. And I have not paid for yet, but have a reservation for two more nights that I made because I am on a business touring trip so I have to be in Charlotte NC. If Laquita is truly concerned with well being of their customers stay as claimed the room carpets need steaming deep cleaning or replacing to rid odor, curtains cleaned at the least and caulking to seal open areas especially around the toilets. These open areas and odors are attractive to the bugs. On flip side I am a Wyndham time share holder for 30 plus years and would and do expect a better room/suite accommodation from hotels/lodging attached to the Wyndham name. Sincerely,
Bob and Gail Trautwein
Nice pet-friendly hotel for the price. Evening front desk staff were helpful and accommodating. Room was spacious and clean, but could use new carpet and drapes. Also, we were on the first floor close to the front desk, but no one seemed to care that our neighbors were smoking and loud in the room (they also need someone to clean up the grounds, since people don't seem to bother cleaning up after their pets!)

My mother and I stayed here for a quick overnight trip January 14th. The receptionist was new so it took her a little longer, but understandable. Had to pay a $100 security deposit which we were told would be refunded. Fast forward and the deposit was never refunded. Upon calling, the gentleman on the phone told my mother that he had no record of us ever staying at this hotel therefore he couldnt do anything about it?? Not quite sure what is going on here but needless to say we wont be back.

It's a fine enough hotel. I started staying at LaQunita Inns because the price is a lot better than my previous brand and every time I walk into one I like to remind myself that I'm saving $50 each time. As far as the good goes, the hotel itself is well used with public areas needing some attention. I'm happy to report that the rooms themselves are better. Overall it's what I expect and with the friendly staff, I would normally give it 5 stars. Of course those stars are on a "curve" since I like saving money. The worst part about the stay here was the weed smoke. I mean, there had to be multiple people smoking weed in their rooms on the 3rd floor, it was very, very strong. As the night wore on, it got stronger and stronger and eventually started seeping in to my room. I don't even mind the smell that much but it was very strong. Update: I couldn't handle the smell so I asked the front desk to more me and it was a simple straightforward process. I'm both grateful and pleased. So, I bumped it up to 5 stars. Again, this is a 5 star for the price point. If the cost was $150 per night, I'd be staying somewhere else.
