Home2 Suites by Hilton Charlotte Uptown

As others have said, really nice room and hotel. However lots of drawbacks. Finding the hotel is definitely a challenge. The parking situation is frustrating and super steep. And the breakfast just isnt good at all. Orange was moldy, no real hot vegetarian options (even the eggs had ham in them) other than a classic waffle. Funny because the breakfast they advertise on the elevator isnt close to anything they serve at the actual breakfast. Gold Status with Hilton also wasnt recognized here.

Convenient to convention center and NASCAR if thats your thing. The staff I encountered were very polite and accommodating The price per night was way too much for the overall amenities. Nice size room with good (for a hotel) kitchenette. The decor was bright and cheerful. Its kind of mid century knock off- so if thats your jam and youre not used to luxury- you might like the cheap and cheerful decor. It was cute. The closet has the cheapest closet road youve ever seen with a curtain covering it- not a door. It was an odd choice. There was a fire alarm early one morning because of unsupervised guests using a toaster in the lobby and not able to follow directions. Huge pain in the you know what to have to evacuate the building from being asleep and in pajamas . Breakfast was a zoo. Theres a Wholefoods one block away which is great. The neighborhood- especially the official hotel entrance feels a little sketchy. The fact that the hotel does not have in room safes is a huge drawback. I felt unsafe leaving my electronics and jewelry in the room. Having a safe in an office behind the front desk is b/s. As a guest I do not have convenient access to my belongings. Ive never stayed in a room in the past 30 years without a safe. Gotta get that fixed Hilton.

Shortly after we arrived we realized that the carpet in our room was wet. We alerted the front desk and they claimed they were unable to move us. It was NYE so its possible that the hotel was full but according to their website, that was not the case. The best they could offer was a minimal discount and a large but loud fan. It seemed as though they were aware that the floor was wet but they let us into the room anyway. It was our wedding anniversary and we had plans so we left the room and hoped it would dry out some by the time we got back. It did not and it began to smell. It was after midnight and we were very tired so we decided to just go to sleep and talk to the hotel in the morning at checkout. The bed was awful and the blankets werent cozy at all. We barely slept. My husband went down in the morning to checkout the hot breakfast and sadly the only hot item they had was waffles. We told the woman at checkout about our experience but nothing more could be done. I should also add that the lobby to the elevator smelled like a public mens bathroom. All of this together, really put a damper on our anniversary and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

VERY satisfied with the hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, room was clean, bed was comfortable, pillows great too. Being next door to the parking garage made it very easy. Hotel complimentarily paid my parking pass which would have stuck me for more than $50. Next time I come to Charlotte, NC I'll be staying at the Home 2 Hilton.

Room is nice. Staff friendly. Parking situation- HORRENDOUS. Not well marked. Have to grab a pass EVERY time you want to leavE. Which puts you in line behind multiple people checking in. If theres a delivery going to Whole Foods (their neighbor) you may be sitting behind a delivery truck just waiting to get in for 10-20 minutes. So - location - good. Rooms - nice - staff - friendly. BUT if you have a car and need/want to be anywhere at a certain time you need to budget an extra 10-20 minutes
