Charlotte Green Team
About the Green Team
In partnership with the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA), organizations and businesses that drive the city’s impactful visitor economy, the Charlotte Green Team advances environmental and sustainability awareness and application of best practices through continued education, collaboration and relationship building.
Charlotte’s robust slate of meetings, conventions and events are substantial travel motivators for leisure and business travelers. The Charlotte Green Team serves as a best practices forum for the region’s tourism and hospitality community to minimize negative impacts on the environment associated with events and promotes a positive social impact for the Queen City. Regular programming explores and shares products, policies, case studies and cutting-edge technologies that demonstrate how to integrate environmentally friendly trends into business operations and reduce carbon footprint.
The Green Team will share, implement, and advocate for innovative practices and programs that align with citywide environmental objectives and contribute to a thriving, greener Queen City.

Social Responsibility
As published by Statista Research, the global hospitality market reached nearly $4.7 trillion in 2023 and is forecast to grow to $5.8 trillion in 2027. The Charlotte Region alone reached a record $7.3 billion in direct visitor spending in 2023.
This massive industry requires the abundant use and consumption of vast resources and with that comes great social responsibility to be good stewards of those resources and our environment.
An abundance of resources is required to host conferences, conventions, concerts, sporting events, and festivals, and to operate tourist attractions, hotels, and restaurants. It is the responsibility of the industry to minimize its use of environmentally harmful resources, source responsibly, and reduce waste wherever possible.
